York University is a public research university located in Toronto, Canada. It is the third-largest university in Canada. It is known for its abundant 28 research facilities and for its involvement in the Canadian Space Program, which in turn often works with NASA. It pioneered some of the first PhD programs in Canada. Its business school and law school are consistently ranked within the top universities of their kind within Canada.
It was established in 1959 and held its first classes in 1960.
