St. Peter's Church
Maple is a small town in the province of Ontario in southeastern Canada. It is not officially a town or even a census-designated place, and so has no official geographic boundaries. It is considered a suburb close to Toronto.

The village was founded in 1852, then called Noble's Corner. The name was changed in 1900 in honor of the plentiful maple trees in the area.

Today, Maple is a tiny, barely recognized place, notable for its historic church and maple trees.

People Born in Maple

Maple in People's Lives

Max Aitken, Lord Beaverbrook: I was born here in 1879, in the St. Andrew's Church. I was the fifth of ten children. My father was a reverend and my mother was the daughter of a prosperous local shopkeeper. When I was a year old, in 1880, my family moved to a suburb of Miramichi. Later in my life, after I had made my fortunes, I gave a large set of bells to the church I was born in.
