Ketchum is a small town in south-central Idaho, located in the Wood River Valley beneath Bald Mountain. 

It was founded in 1880, at the time known as "Leadville." It later became a prosperous smelting town.

Today, Ketchum is known for its skiing, outdoor activities, nearby mountain, and downtown area.

Hunter S. Thompson: I traveled here as a reporter for the National Observer in 1964, to investigate and report on Ernest Hemingway's suicide. I had been a longtime admirer of Hemingway, and he had been highly influential to my writing. While here, I stole a pair of elk antlers hanging above the door Hemingway's cabin.
