Ipswich in People's Lives
Ian McEwan: After spending much of my childhood living abroad, most recently in Libya, my parents sent me back to England in 1959, when I was 11 years old, to attend the Woolverstone Hall School. I attended the boarding school and lived here until 1966, leaving when I was 18 years old to attend the University of Sussex.
Ralph Fiennes: I was born in December of 1962, three days before Christmas. I was my parent's first child, the son of a photographer and a writer. My early childhood was spent here, until my family moved to Ireland in 1973, when I was 11.
