The Viking statue
Gimli is a small town in the province of Manitoba in southern-central Canada, located on Lake Winnipeg.

It was established in 1906, though settlement existed here earlier, founded by Icelandic settlers. Today, Gimli retains its Icelandic heritage, and even the Icelandic language. It is also known for its Viking monument statue and waterfront.
