Colorful Georgetown
Georgetown is the capital city of Guyana in northern South America, located on the northeastern coastline of the country, and also at the mouth of the Demerara River. Its nickname is "Garden City of the Caribbean."

It began as a small Dutch village in the 17th Century, but was captured by the British in 1781. It was then colonized and made the area's capital by the French in 1782.

Today, Georgetown is known for its colorful buildings, breezy atmosphere, beaches, low cost of living, and lush gardens and parks.
