Eilean Donan is a tiny tidal island in the area of Highland in northwestern Scotland. It is located at the meeting of three lochs, Loch Duich, Loch Long, and Loch Alsh. The island is now uninhabited, though in 2001 there was officially a population of 1 individual. All of its tiny lands belong to the Eilean Donan Castle. A footbridge connects it to the mainland.

The earliest settlement on this small island was a monastery, which began as early as the 6th Century. Around 1215, the castle was built, and was added on to and renovated until the 16th Century. It was restored in the 20th Century.

Today, Eilean Donan is known mainly for its pictaresque castle and waterfront views.
