East Providence is a town in northeastern Rhode Island in the northeastern United States. It is the fifth-largest city in the state.

The land was purchased by the Plymouth Colony from the Native American Indians in 1641. It remained farmland until beginning as a fishing town in 1882.

Today, East Providence is known for its waterfront and charming small-town feel.
