People Born in Copenhagen
Copenhagen in People's Lives
Magnus Carlsen: I traveled here to compete in a chess tournament, the Politiken Cup, in 2003, where I obtained my third IM. This led to me being awarded the IM title a month later.
Samuel Morse: I traveled here in the 1850's. I was invited to meet with King Frederick VII, and was made a member of the respected Dutch Order of Dannebrog. I donated a self-portrait that I had painted of myself in 1830 to the king, which is still owned by the Dutch crown to this day. Also while in this city, I visited the Thorvaldsens Museum.
Viggo Mortensen: My father was Dutch, and so is my name, so when I graduated university in 1980 and left for Europe, I knew that I wanted to come explore here. I lived here for a few months in 1981, and got a job as a flower seller.
Viktoria Tolstoy: I performed a concert here in 2009.
Zuzanna Bijoch: I often travel here for work as a high fashion model, and am represented here by the modeling agency 2pm Model Management.
