800px-Penobscot Bay, Maine
Belfast is a small town in southern Maine, located at the mouth of the Passagassawakeag River on the Penobscot Bay.

Formerly a fishing and hunting ground of the Abenaki Indians, in 1630 a handful of English traders took up temporary residence in the area. It was, however, only officially settled in 1770, and made a town in 1773, and named after Belfast, Ireland.

Today, Belfast is known for its beautiful river scenery, sunrises, beach, sailing, natural bay, and New England beauty.
